Uplyft is proud to be a part of the following projects.

Wheat is one of the crops farmed by the Taung Cooperative.

Taung Co-Op Commercialisation

TAUNG, NORTH WEST

The Taung Co-op represents the collective interests of 74 farmer members (94.8% of whom are historically disadvantaged individuals, HDIs) farming an area spanning (depending on crop cycle plans) up to 600 hectares in the socio-economically impoverished area of Taung, in the North West Province. The farmers typically share pivots, each of which covers 40 hectares.

Chicory is farmed by the Humansdorp Cooperative.

Chicory Cash Crop Project

HUMANSDORP, EASTERN CAPE

The Humansdorp Kooperasie will work with BeyondCOVID in order to implement the 200 hectare Chicory and Cash Crop Project. Their proposed role includes facilitating the implementation of the Project through the provision of funding for farm establishment, training, mentorship, software and supporting costs. In addition to this, Humansdorp may assist with the arrangement of offtake agreements to purchase the cash crops and may assist with the purchase the chicory farmed on the 200 hectares.

To date, Humansdorp has implemented 74 development projects, creating 1,384 permanent jobs and assisting 75,956 direct and indirect beneficiaries.

Construction and agriculture SMME Collectives will benefit through the Coega Ridge project.

Coega Ridge – Motherwell Construction SMME Collectives

COEGA RIDGE, EASTERN CAPE

BeyondCOVID will align the interests of Motherwell and the Coega Ridge investors through construction and agriculture SMME Collectives and allow them to engage government as a united front seeking regulatory approvals and a Public Private Partnership for waste water treatment.  The members of Motherwell will have a seat at the table of a R38 billion investment negotiation process.
